All-in-one heating and cooling, built for flat-roof homes and commercial spaces.

At a glance
Done once. Done right.
Rooftop package units house the compressor, coils, blower, and heating source in a single cabinet on the roof — no indoor closet space taken up, no separate outdoor condenser cluttering a yard or parking lot. For flat-roof residential homes and commercial properties across Orange County, that’s often the most practical setup available.

What Is a Rooftop Package Unit?
Unlike split systems, which separate indoor and outdoor components, a packaged unit combines everything — condenser coils, scroll compressor, air handling, and multi-stage heating — into one self-contained cabinet enclosure mounted on the roof. Everything runs from a single footprint, with mechanical noise kept entirely outside and away from occupied space.
Residential and Commercial Applications
Residential — Typically sized 2 to 5 tons, common in flat-roof homes and townhomes where a traditional split system doesn’t fit the layout.
Commercial — Sized up to 25+ tons for offices, strip malls, restaurants, and multi-family properties, where minimizing downtime and reliable performance matter for day-to-day operations.
We work with both packaged gas/electric systems and packaged heat pumps, sized to the property — not a one-size-fits-all unit.
The Space-Saving Advantage
Because everything lives in one rooftop cabinet, there’s no indoor equipment closet, no attic ductwork run for the unit itself, and no outdoor condenser taking up ground space. For commercial tenants and flat-roof homeowners alike, that’s often the deciding factor over a traditional split system.
What’s Involved in Installation
Rooftop units require crane service for the lift, since the unit is being set directly onto the roof structure. GoTech coordinates crane service as part of the installation process, so you’re not left arranging that logistics piece separately.
Maintenance for Rooftop Units
Because these systems sit exposed to coastal elements and often run heavier duty cycles in commercial settings, quarterly or biannual maintenance and filter changes are standard for keeping them running at peak performance — especially for businesses that can’t afford downtime.
Our Process
Custom system design and sizing, precision installation, prompt repairs, and maintenance contracts tailored to your property — we handle the full lifecycle of your rooftop system, not just the installation day.
Packaged Rooftop Unit Repair in Orange County
Packaged rooftop units combine the compressor, coils, blower and often a gas heat section in one cabinet on the roof. We repair compressors, condenser fan motors, contactors, economizers and control boards, and replace units that are beyond economical repair.
Rooftop units are part of our commercial HVAC services. See our Trane rooftop unit repair case study and the rooftop tune-up checklist. We service packaged rooftop units in Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, Lake Forest and throughout Orange County.
